Sustainable Focus:
AIMING FOR EXCELLENCE

At Boomers Parks we prioritize ESG factors as we strive to grow through responsible and sustainable strategy. A focus on ESG goals means that we are better positioned to navigate risks and challenges related to environmental and social issues, which can ultimately lead to long-term financial success.

What does ESG mean?

ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. These the three key factors used to evaluate the sustainability and ethical impact of a company’s operations. ESG has become an increasingly important concept in business, as more and more investors and customers are interested in supporting companies that prioritize sustainability and ethical practices.

Here is a brief explanation of each of the three components of ESG:

  1. Environmental: This includes factors such as a company’s carbon footprint, use of natural resources, waste management, and efforts to reduce pollution and mitigate climate change.

  2. Social: This includes factors such as a company’s impact on local communities, labor practices, diversity and inclusion efforts, and relationships with suppliers.

  3. Governance: This includes factors such as a company’s board structure, executive compensation, transparency in financial reporting, and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.

ENVIRONMENTAL

The environmental factors of our ESG plan are action items aimed to minimize and optimize Boomers Parks’ use of natural resources. Through improved environmental efforts, we strive to to reduce pollution and mitigate climate change.

What is the Impact?: LED Lights Upgrade

Switching to LED bulbs can make a significant environmental difference in several ways:
Energy efficiency: LED bulbs use much less energy than incandescent bulbs to produce the same amount of light. Switching to LED bulbs can help reduce energy consumption and lower greenhouse gas emissions associated with electricity generation.
Longer Lifespan: LED bulbs have a much longer lifespan than traditional bulbs, which means they need to be replaced less frequently. This reduces the amount of waste generated from disposing of burnt-out bulbs and the energy and resources required to manufacture new bulbs.
Reduced Toxic Waste: Unlike traditional bulbs, LED bulbs do not contain mercury, which is a toxic material that can be harmful to human health and the environment. This means that switching to LED bulbs can help reduce the amount of toxic waste generated from disposing of old bulbs.
Smaller Carbon Footprint: LED bulbs have a lower carbon footprint compared to traditional bulbs. According to the US Department of Energy, if every household in the US replaced one traditional bulb with an LED bulb, it would be equivalent to taking 800,000 cars off the road in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.
Overall, switching to LED bulbs can help reduce energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and minimize waste and toxic materials. This makes them a more environmentally sustainable choice compared to traditional bulbs.

What is the Impact?: Water Conservation

Water conservation efforts can also have several environmental impacts, including:

Reduced Water Consumption: Water conservation efforts can help reduce water consumption in industrial, commercial, and residential settings. This can help conserve water resources and reduce the strain on freshwater ecosystems.
Reduced Energy Consumption: Water conservation efforts can also reduce the amount of energy needed to treat, transport, and distribute water. This can help reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with energy generation.
Improved Water Quality: By reducing the amount of water used in industrial processes, water conservation efforts can help reduce the amount of pollutants discharged into waterways, which can help improve water quality and protect aquatic ecosystems.

What is the Impact?: Cogen Upgrade

Cogeneration, or “cogen,” is a process where a single energy source is used to produce both electricity and heat. Upgrading a cogeneration system can have several environmental impacts, including:
Energy Efficiency: A cogen upgrade can increase energy efficiency by producing both electricity and heat from the same energy source. This means that less energy is wasted, which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with electricity generation.
Reduced Emissions: A more efficient cogeneration system can produce less greenhouse gas emissions compared to traditional electricity generation methods, such as burning fossil fuels.
Smaller Carbon Footprint: Upgrading a cogen system can help reduce the carbon footprint of a facility by reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
