Summer’s heating up, and that means it’s time for sun, slides, and splashes! But before you dive in, let’s make sure your water skills are just as ready as your swimsuit.
May is officially Water Safety Month in Florida, and two of your favorite Panhandle water parks – Big Kahuna’s Destin and Shipwreck Island Panama City Beach – are kicking off the season with a strong commitment to promoting safe swimming practices and community education.
On Thursday, June 26, 2025, both parks are joining the 16th annual World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ (WLSL) – a global event that promotes learning to swim as a vital life skill. Whether you’re a first-timer or just need a refresher, this is a fun, FREE way to build confidence in and around the water.
